Rainy Day, Cloudy Day, Silver Lining…
It’s Wednesday, the middle of the week, and it’s raining and freezing (It was 83* yesterday!). I’ve had 2 grande sized coffees today and I guess that’s like 4 cups of caffeine goodness, which is definitely needed on a day that should be spent under a blanket and watching movies, but no, instead of doing that, I’m writing case analysis’, taking notes and organizing. (Planner is from MayDesigns.com where you can customize all different sorts of planners and even stationary set. This is my second planner. I love them!)
Besides having to do all of the above, I had a nice little monster (oxymoron much?) to keep me company… Andy!
(He didn’t appreciate mommy (me) working and not being able to play with him.)
On my last post I said I bought some wedges, well I went back to the store and these are WAY out there, but I just think these are awesome I might just get them!
(Jessica Simpson, why do you
make design such cute shoes?)
I just realized how scattered my blog post is today; I blame it on the weather.
(Perfect for spring, don’t you think?)
And finally, I’ve discussed the weather, which happens to also be in the title of this post, but the other part? Silver Lining? Well, It has to do with my favorite song right now, and that is new country singer Kacey Musgraves’ song “Silver Lining”. Go pick up or download her album on iTunes.
Until next time,
Starting the new year with some organization and order.
I’m the first to say that I’m not a very neat person. I happen to have a system that I happen to call organized chaos. Basically it looks like a pile of papers thrown together, yet I know where I happen to place things. Not this year though. I finally decided to get a desk this weekend, not that I didn’t have one before, but I’m sure the coffee table, dinning table, or bed are not really considered a “desk”.
I took a lovely little trip to IKEA, and low and behold I walked out with a desk, and 3 of the most frustrating hours ever spent putting it together. I’m telling you, I sort of wished I would have just splurged on a more expensive desk somewhere else just so that I could avoid putting it together.
Currently my desk is nice and clean, but as soon as the spring semester hits I’m not so sure how long this will last. I have gotten pretty good at synchronizing my notes from my iPhone and iPad so I can eliminate the paper clutter, which eventually makes it onto my MacBook Pro. (I really want an iMac now that I have an actual desk, obsessed Apple fan.)
Other things on my desk are a little notebook from Carolina Herrera from the Neiman Marcus+Target Collection and my Maybooks agenda. I found out about Maybooks when I was reading one of The College Prepster’s blog post. Check it out her blog y’all.
Here are some photo’s of my new desk with all my other stuff on there.
Are you being organized this year?
Until next time,
Pinterest Wednesday!: Office Supplies!
Back with Pinterest Wednesday!
It’s hard to ignore the displays popping up everywhere in office supply stores and places such as Target and Walmart all displaying school/office supplies.
We’re almost at the end of July, and even though I’m a college student and have no need for school supplies besides paper, a pen, highlighter and textbooks, I still get pretty darn excited about office supplies. It might sound weird, but it’s true, school supply shopping was always my favorite part of the year when it came to the start of a new school year.
So here I present to some of things that caught my eye and have actually purchased. Most of the stuff is to keep things organize, I’m slightly OCD with things being in their places. Enough of that though, here it is!
From top left: monogrammed mint leather pouch, Turquoise w/ Gold embellishment iPad case from anthropology, striped legal pad by Kate Spade, and finally Custom Monogramed Agenda by Maybooks.

Until next time,
Thursday Musing: 50 Shades of Grey. Yes I read the books.
Why have I neglected my blog for so long this week, besides my Manicure Post earlier in the week you ask? Well, I was consumed by a trilogy that many have already read and I just got around to read it.
Fifty Shades of Grey.
Where should I begin?
Well, I had asked before on a previous post about some good summer reading and everyone kept mentioning these books, and then I’d hear it on TV and people described it as “mommy porn”. Sorry, but I’m 22, and definitely not a mommy, and a description like that makes me, for lack of a better word, uneasy.
Then Sunday night, I got my iPad and downloaded all three books. Then Monday morning I began to read. (Side note: Once I begin a book, I HAVE to finish it that day, no matter what.) Not gonna lie, I was slightly disturbed at what I was reading. Tuesday rolled around, and you can guess the pattern, I finished the second book, then Wednesday the third, which happened to be my favorite.
Now, my favorite character in the books? Christian Grey of course, even though that might sound a little weird once you start the book series, but in the end you’ll understand why. His character is, well developed (no pun intended). It seems a little twilight-ish, but better? I think.
Anyways, now I hear they are making a movie. Um, excuse me? This movie is probably going to be Rated-R, if that! Yeah, I believe this will be a story that is going to be a little weird to portray in the big screen.
And yes, I have an actor in mind that should play Christian Grey. First it was Matt Bomber, then I changed it to Matt Dallas (KY XY main character), then FINALLY, yes FINALLY, I came to the conclusion that Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries) IS CHRISTIAN GREY. As far as Anastasia (the other main character) I think maybe Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars).
I will be so upset if Ian Somerhalder doesn’t play Christian Grey. He’s just so good at being bad. Yes I said.
Until next time,
